Sergio Menendez, MD
American Society of Addiction Medicine Board Certified Internal Medicine
Medical Director

Dr. Menendez is the Medical Director at NewBridge Recovery. Dr. Menendez is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has extensive experience treating people with addictions. After graduating with a Medical Degree from Mexico National University, he completed residencies at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Dr. Menendez believes in an integrative treatment philosophy, which is centered on making the patient comfortable during treatment and incorporating holistic options to enhance clinical outcomes. Dr. Menendez personally oversees all medical care at NewBridge including our outpatient detox program.

Samantha Carver, LMHC, CAP
Clinical Director

Ms. Carver has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. She has worked in a variety of adult and adolescent environments including residential and outpatient treatment treatment centers, colleges and high schools. She utilizes solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), human centered therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). She has worked with individuals struggling with stress management, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, substance abuse and grief/loss. She guides individuals to create self-acceptance by helping them learn to more efficiently manage life, overcoming past and current obstacles.

Lidia Oliveira, DO, AOAAM, ASAM
Physician

Dr. Oliveira brings over 20 years of physician experience to NewBridge. She is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University Medical School Osteopathic Medicine. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine and also a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Nora Beenackers, MSc
Clinical Program Manager

Ms. Beenackers has extensive experience in addictions, trauma and mental health disorders. She has a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the prestigious University of Utrecht in Utrecht, Netherlands and was awarded post-graduate European recognition as a GZ-Psychologist. She is certified as an EMDR Practitioner Europe. As a Health Care Psychologist & Head of Treatment in Utrecht and Amsterdam her experience includes all levels of addiction care, psychodiagnostics, patient care coordination, supervision of psychologists-in-training and treatment program analysis. Ms. Beenackers is responsible for treatment program management and continuity of patient care at NewBridge.

Beth Swanson, LCDC, MSN, CARN
Certified Addiction Registered Nurse

Ms. Swanson has 28 years of experience providing addiction care to those in need. Her experience includes residential & outpatient treatment, detox and critical care. She is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse. She has a Masters Degree in Nursing and is a Member of the International Nurses Society on Addictions. Beth coordinates patient medical care and medication management.

Jeremiah Stokes, MS, LMHC, NCC
Psychotherapist

Jeremiah is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida, National Certified Counselor and Board Certified PTSD Clinician through the American Psychotherapy Association. Within his career, Jeremiah has treated children, adolescents, adults, couples and families for chemical dependency, process addictions, depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), personality disorders, and issues related to the family system.

Angel McNeill, LMHC
Psychotherapist

Angel is a Masters Level addiction counselor with experience in residential treatment for men and women. She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida’s Masters program in Counseling.

Elizabeth Bay CAC
Admissions Counselor

Elizabeth has 8 years of professional experience in residential & outpatient addiction treatment. She helps patients and their families navigate the often confusing choices of treatment options and the complexity of their insurance benefits. Through her caring help, people seeking treatment will clearly understand their path to recovery.

Annie Henderson, LCDC, SAP, CAC
Admissions Counselor

Annie has 15 years of experience helping people with substance use disorders. Prior to joining NewBridge she was at the prestigious Ranch at Dove Tree Treatment Center in Lubbock, TX where she worked in the residential and outpatient programs.
